Tuesday, Sept. 13: If you could switch lives with someone for a day, who would it be? Why?
I really needed to think about this. I love my life and what I do.
The only person I could think of that I would love to switch with is a fabric purchaser for a large fabric store with an unlimited budget. I just love fabric. My first job was working at the local So-Fro fabric store. My manager would purposely schedule me to work when a shipment was expected. I loved opening those big refrigerator-sized boxes filled with fabric. It was heaven!
I walk through fabric stores just stroking the fabric. I love the colors, the textures and feel of fabric. When I’m in a quilt store, I love to help other customers find the right fabric. It’s just fun to put the colors and prints together.
I would love to be able to see and touch all the fabrics. And not just quilting fabrics. I love all fabric. I could spend hours walking through the aisles of home dec fabrics and fashion fabrics. I love visiting one of my nieces. She lives in New York City. I love to spend time wandering around the garment district. Seeing all the fabrics and trims. It’s such a magical place for me.
I have no pictures for this post. I dropped my phone while hiking this weekend. It fell down between the boulders on my way to Mt Adams. It still there today. I’m off to get a new phone today.
