This orange and blue quilt is a collection of ufo’s a customer put together. The center star she purchased at a ufo auction at a local guild. The blue and orange checker board blocks are from a block swap at the same guild. She then added the blue and white quarter square triangle blocks in order to make the quilt longer. Then 5 borders of orange and blue. She left the quilting choices up to me.
The biggest challenge was the 5 borders. They are wider at the top and bottom than on the sides. I needed to use a design which could be re-sized smoothly. The feathers and crossed wishbone design worked well.
This is a gift for her grand-daughter. I hope she likes it. I know my customer did.
